If I could ban anything...

OK so I understand that everyone has a cell phone, but it really bugs me when people you are out with continue to talk or text while they are with you. If I could ban anything it would be cell phone use while out on a date or just hanging with friends. I mean really if you are with someone but the person is constantly on the phone it makes the other person feel really uncomfortable. It is common sense to pay attention to the person you are with otherwise just don't ask them to hang out.

I read the Scam of "Reconstruction " in Afghanistan. I can see why this article was censored because the fact that the big corporations are actually getting the money that is supposed to be going towards the "Reconstruction" is just infuriating. The world band and the USAID are suppose to be protecting the underdeveloped countries and they are apart to the scam. So the money that comes from the U.S. citizens is just being filterd back to the big corporations and the people we think we are helping are actucally getting very little if anything.

Blog # 8

Since we can write about anything this week I would like to talk about a few things. First gas prices are crazy! I paid over 85 dollars just to fill up my truck. It make me almost want to get a smaller car but the problem is my truck is paid for and I don't want or need another car payment. I mean really I drive to and from work and school and try really hard not to drive to unnecessary place just to conserve on gas!! And I don't know if this is true or not but my mom told me today that the oil refineries have a surplus of oil here in the states, if this is true why are prices still going up?? I feel like I am working just so I can put gas in my truck.

Another thing is what Carleen said about time flying! I can't believe it is going to be Easter and Spring Break is around the corner!!Yippeee But lucky me I get to work the whole week :( but at least it is a break from school. But my only problem with that break is I don't want to come back after. I wonder what it would be like to not have a spring break like Mt. Sac, they start late in February and don't get a spring break according to my sister.

Disobedient Hero's

A disobedient hero that stands out in my mind is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr during the time period it was very hard for a person of color to be heard. Dr. King broke all the laws and fought for equal rights for everyone. Because Dr. King stood up and fought the current laws at that time for equal rights we now have intergrated schools, restantuntes, the buses are not seprated "white in the front blacks in the back". Dr. Kings actions changed the way America treated people of all colors although some may not agree with Dr.King and the Civil Rights Movement it sure has made things more even and equal and I think that is great.

Justice Potter

I agree with his statement. With censorship you don't get the entire story, you only get someone who believes that they are protecting others from the "bad" portions of the book or whatever is being censored. Censorship in my opinion is a voliation of our rights and is and attempt control the population it is believed that the censorship is for the better good but shouldn't it be up to the individual to decide what is right for them to read.
